Can you please give advice about what to do, or even better: provide a script (in custombuild) to make it safe again or replace it with an other firewall. Or whatever.

Enable csf in directadmin

directadmin will manage CSF since now. You should have an actual version of directadmin for it.

What about the plugin? Should I remove it?

We have the legacy-version because the provider (transip.nl) does not have the newest licenses yet. But we are on the latest 1.686 now.

No, you should not. You can keep the plugin

A legacy license still allows upgrading to an actual version of DirectAdmin. So it is fine)
