Anyone wants to vote for the features? :) We can ask John to create a poll.

Top 5

1. Migration utility to move everything to a new DA server
2. Multi-server setup (multiple DA servers and/or distributed services)
3. Exim upgrade that doesn't nuke my custom exim.conf or better yet migrates the minor config changes I have in place
4. Ability to specify stats pkg manually (i use an off-box solution that is better than awstats)
5. Multi-level administration granular access control (allow the specification of domain level admins and email only admins or db only admins within a single domain of multi-domain customers)
6. (yeah I know, one too many) a simple integrated signup/billing engine.

I don't see how this makes sense. Are we giving users a list of features to vote for? If so we need a lot more than five.

Or are we just asking if people want these features? That's completely different, and to me probably useless; it would just add more controversy.

Of course if that's what you want, you could create the poll yourself.

My point is that by adding your request to a long list of requests in a thread you make it unlikely that DirectAdmin staff will ever see it to consider. I recommend a separate thread for each request, so that DA staff will find it easy to appropriately respond.

Yes, mailman would be a great addition. You can install it manually now if you want :) (I've done few installations in the past)

Martynas,

In the installs you've done does Mailman automatically work for all domains on the server? Or is there more work still to be done to allow that?

Thanks.

Jeff

jlasman, only one domain :) But it's easy to add more. I think there won't be any problems for John to add Mailman support.

Another email program???

Another email program???...

Is DirectAdmin's primary focus becoming an admin panel for email servers or web hosting..

Are we at least going to have a select option in the admin panel to turn off all the email programs or to at least allow the admin's to select one email program for ALL hosted users..

I really don't wish to allow my customers to have access to 4 email programs when only one is needed...

Personally I wish I could flip a switch and turn them all off and use mail forwarding as a primary email resource. Saves on the bandwidth and saves on the possibility of your server becoming a spam sending solution and will also assist in stopping your IP numbers from being banned from other servers when your server does become a spam sending solution???..

Why do we need 4 email programs anyway????

I get over 200 emails a day alread... I need another email soultion like I need another hole in my head.. :(

Hi Jeremy..

Pardon my ignorance but don't all these email programs that we have now offer "mailing list" services or is my thinking of what a mailing list is (a library of email address's) way off (which would not surprise me ;).. )???...

Mailing lists have their place and, if moderated properly, any spam can be removed before sent to mailing list subscribers. I have a mailing list that my customers subscribe to for notifications about outages and maintenance. It's an announce only list, so I am the only one who can send a message to that list.
