How-to: cPanel to DA migration

In case no one noticed, the links in the start of this thread are 404's, and it doesn't talk about the cPanel transfer tool in Directadmin and it's options:
Replace existing user
Ignore convert errors
Preserve owner

Can we get more details on this?

cPanel import tool is a part of DirectAdmin now. You may find this feature on admin level when logged in to DirectAdmin control panel.

There's no information on these options there:
Replace existing user
Ignore convert errors
Preserve owner

It would be nice to have some details on these. Like, why would you preserve the owner and would ignoring errors mean it can finish and not work correctly?

This is a very useful migration guide, especially for administrators moving multiple accounts from cPanel to DirectAdmin. I would strongly recommend testing the conversion with one account first, ideally one with larger database names or more complex configurations, before migrating everything. Pay particular attention to email formats, database username changes, reseller ownership, DNS zones, and services that DirectAdmin doesn't support natively. Keeping the original cpmove backups on the server for a few weeks is also a sensible precaution in case something is missing after restoration. A pre-migration checklist covering these points would make the process even safer and help avoid unexpected issues during a large migration.
