DirectAdmin update error with valid licence

Hi everyone!

This is my first post but am sure wont be the last. I really dont know if this is the right place to ask, if not please excuse me. My native language is not English, so you may try more for understanding me lol

Well i got a new VDS installed about 2 weeks ago with a directadmin bundled licence. After about a week or so directadmin update was displayed on the web interface. I tried updating by clicking the Update Directadmin button (http://prntscr.com/q0zbjc). Something went wrong and got an error that the update was unsuccesful. After some search i found that the update.tar.gz content was not a valid archive but an error message. It was about me not having permission to run the software. I checked the licence provided from directadmin web interface, ssh command and directadmin website and confirmed the licence was valid (http://prntscr.com/q0zd6s). I tried updating directadmin from the ssh terminal and custombuild also, but got same error. Infact custombuild started an endless loop, hardly stopped it.

I checked the ip of server by using wget command on a custom remote script and also the date and time settings of the server. All seem set ok.

Well, i am suspicious about a few changes i made after first install which are..
the hostname and nameservers are different
the timezone is different
administrator mail is different

I searched about 4 days about this error and asked the VDS provider to check but they offered me a backup and reinstall. I really dont want about 15+ clients have this service interruption because I really think this is a correctable error about a really simple setting.

From the creators and users of directadmin can anyone offer me check any settings that may prevent acceptance of the valid licence. Any help is appreciated. Thank you for your time..
 
If you have license by that provider so not your owned yourself i don't know or they get/give you the info's to manual install?

Also see all directadmin log files! And ticket / message system

Could be problems with external ip , so how is your setup for network to outside... and could be problem with ssl combi with some other things but you should see some info in directadmin logs files for those errors..

Only posting this because i had some of those myself while doing " lan install setup guide" there i did see
also some links here

Don't know how your provider handel hostname changes and DA do for those kind of licenses , if you changed ip , then you could need new license keys , pff providers do say new install then is common for those licenses

You didn't post the exact error messages and where when you get those. ( log files whatever) you do the update as root in ssh? ( is anything changed with users and rights...? )
And did updates worked before on your box?

I'd suggest trying getLicense.sh:

Works fine getting the licence with no problem

If it has no issues, please try manual update and see if it errors:

* You are not allowed to run this program *

Not knowing the cause then you should be lucky to solve with that and not having problems again, kind of gambling solution, or they know and solve then and didn't tell you?

i will try backup and reinstall option at a suitable time but before this happens if anyone may realise a configuration that may prevent update with a valid licence i will be very glad

It looks like an expired license? I'd suggest contacting sales/billing for this. Try https://license.directadmin.com before this.
