[RELEASE] Installatron (DirectAdmin auto script installer)

installatron problems

Lately, installatron has been giving me problems. With updating packages, it always updates a few packages, but yet when you go to install them, the packages aren't there. ive opened a ticket, waitinf for a fix.

The license server was offline for an hour or so while we moved out server. Should be working now.

Asking around, it seems that there is a problem with 3 of the installers that is repeatable on several servers. We'll have a look at that and put a fix in the next release.

Thanks for the headsup.

Rowan.

Mambo is the one that's been acting weird for us lately - works on some boxes, not others - but always says it's updated, or new installer.

Hostpc:

You're getting it on Mambo? I thought it was just:

osCommerce
Simple Poll
The Search Engine Project

Anyone else getting this? ie. each time you do an Update Installers & Languages it always reports to have updated the same packages?

Hostpc, are you also saying that mambo won't install on some servers?

I've seen rogue reports of install problems with Mambo - most recently on 2 boxes, thats why I was trying to update and clear. I submitted an inquiry to your site, but it bounced :(

Otherwise, everyone loves iTron :)

An error has occured. Please check Installatron's error_log.
Suppressing additional errors!Error: No License

Installatron is unable to locate any license key for this server, and the licensing server is currently down(?).

Oh god, this is why:

NS1.LIQUENOX.NET 70.85.24.196
NS2.LIQUENOX.NET 70.85.24.197

wish they'd have announced they were opening the 70.x IP block - thats really becomming a headache.

I'm not having a problem logging in to the Installatron member area; you might want to try again.

If you still cannot login, the problem might be with internet connectivity between you and the Installatron server.

This has been since 2AM MST

The license server isn't showing any down time today. Are you able to log into your client account?

Also, try this from your server:

ping 70.85.24.196

Can your server reach ours?

Rowan.

You're logging into the client account from your ISP whereas the ping is from your server.

For some reason your server/network hasn't picked up on the installatron.com DNS propagation yet. A traceroute might help you find the problem, or you might need to contact your datacenter.

Rowan.

Rowan,

Might you think out your last reply again?

If his ping fails from his server to your IP# it has nothing to do with DNS propagation.

I think he's either got a firewall problem or a routing problem.

Depending on what port your updating system requires, it's most likely that one of the routers along the route doesn't know about 70.*.*.* being live yet.

If you can tell us the port number you use for updates, he can try a telnet connection to your server on the right port both with and without his firewalling running.

Once he knew that it wasn't a firewall issue, his datacenter would have to find the problem and get it fixed.

Jeff

Installatron updating uses HTTP, so it's port 80.

To be honest, I don't know much about routers and firewalls, but you might be right there, Jeff.

Although the 70.x.x.x IP block seems to be quite new so I wondered if iTec's network wasn't recognising it yet.

It'll likely be something to do with one of those things.

Rowan.

If it's port 80 it's not a firewall issue, or at least if it was, webserving wouldn't work either.

My guess is, as yours, it's a problem with iTec's router isn't recognizing 70.x.x.x yet.

Jeff

I've spoken with iTech's datacenter - iTech's firewall / iptables combination is blocking his accessing any of the 70.x IP's.

Once he opens his iptables to allow 70.x, he'll be fine.
