[RELEASE] Installatron (DirectAdmin auto script installer)

suggestion:

make the update button put the updating into directadmins task q and let it do it in the background, then email you when its done...
It's only that first one that takes a long time; subsquent updates usually take 5-15 seconds, and I suspect that if the admin is doing the Update manually (as apposed to using Cron) they'll prefer to see the results onscreen rather than wait for an email.

dragon2611,

The SDK should come with our upcoming release candidate.

Phi1.

Do you email users once it is ready for downloading. I've just bought Installtron but not sure as what the update situation is regarding notifications of new releases.

thanks

Jon

We don't have a mailing list, mainly because we hope the cron abilities of 3.0 will remove the need for that (Upgrading and Updating can be automated).

Any updates available for some of the scripts..? Almos all of them are out of date!

I've found the Installatron team quicker than most at updating the scripts, never waited too long?

We've been focused on getting 3.0 finished this the last month or so which has taken time away from writing upgraders. We're working on both though. :)

jjma: not sure what you're asking there.

Hello

I have the following problem using php 5.0.3 and installatron. If I click on the "Installatron Admin" link, I get this message

An error has occured. Please check Installatron's error_log.
Suppressing additional errors! Fatal error: Call to a member function query() on a non-object in /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/iTron/sources/misc.php on line 22

and the error_log looks like this

2005-01-16 12:26:10 (CET) xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx PHP 5.0.3 (FreeBSD): [2048] var: Deprecated. Please use the public/private/protected modifiers (14 of /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/iTron/sources/libraries/filemanip.php)

Has anyone the same problem?

I'm using 2.5beta6

Regards
Fabrizio

Thanks for any help

Fabrizio,

This part troubles me: Call to a member function query() on a non-object in /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/iTron/sources/misc.php on line 22.

To help get this issue fixed as soon as possible I would like to login to your server and upload a debug version of Installatorn. If this is possible, contact us on the following page with your root and DirectAdmin login details:
https://www.installatron.com/contact

Thank You, Phi1.

I misread your post. When version 3 comes out there will be a way of updating via cron. Is this correct?

Jon
Yes, that's right. It's actually in 2.5beta6, maybe Phil can post some info about setting it up.

I've send you the information for our server via your contact form.

Fabrizio,

Though not solely an ionCube issue, I believe the fatal error to be an issue with their decoders. I will contact them and see if they have heard of any issues with PHP 5. As for the other minor errors, they will be fixed in the next release of Installatron. However, before release, I will ask for server login information again to make sure all is 100% working. :)

theres an issue with installatron installing XMB it doesnt appear to put all the files in place thus making config of the script seemingly impossible

if i tell it to put it in /xmb i end up with /xmb/XMB/

and pressing configure produces a 404 error.

You're right. There looks to have been a change in the archive file. I'll update the installer.

Edit: the XMB installer has been updated.
